Trip to Ngwe Saung Beach for Myanmar Artistes organized by Htoo Foundation
All of us human beings are travelling through
time as we busy ourselves with daily chores. In our daily struggle for survival we
usually find ourselves physically stressed out while the jamming urban
environment coupled with the helter -skelter city life harassed us psychologically.
Making matters worse especially for the elderly is the sweltering urban heat that
inflicts a torturous physical and mental anguish on them.
Although we knew that a trip to a beach is supportive to our health and could be
an escape from the burning urban surrounding, expenses of travelling,
accommodation and food are, unfortunately, hurdles to indulging ourselves on
such a trip. Taking such a trip can be far more problematic for the elderly. A
retreat to a quiet surrounding such as a beach and a session of meditation there
would refresh the mind and rejuvenate the body of those of advanced years. The
benefits would be far greater if the trip is taken by those sharing the same talent
and natural flair.
To fulfill the aspiration of
elderly musicians to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and ease their
mental stress, U Tay Za, Chairman of Htoo Group of Companies and Htoo
Foundation, sponsored a trip for them to Ngwe Saung Beach. The Group,
coprising over twenty members, includes such classic musicians as U Bogalay
Tint Aung, U Min Naung, U Maung Maung Gyi, U Tin Hlaing, U Myo Myint
Lay, U Than Myat Soe, U Kaytu Win Htut, Daw Tin Tin Mya, Daw Myint Myint
Khin, Daw Htar, Daw Cho Pyone and Daw Khin Khin Nyunt Than. Road
transport from Yangon to Ngwe Saung, and accommodation and meals were
provided at Htoo Group of Companies 'Aureum Palace Hotel and Myanmar
Treasure Hotels.
A musical entertainment
performed by classic singers with instrumental accompaniment by Myanmar Pyay
Kyauk Seinn's ''Myanmar Classical Music Troupe'' was held on Ngwe Saung
beach at 6:30 P.M. on 21 st November 2012.Locals from Ngwe Saung and
surrounding villages gathered joyously on the beach to enjoy the opportune show.
The singers, celebrated
nationwide, sang their still popualr old-time favorites while the audience heartily
echoed every line of the song in unison with the singer. 92-year old singer,
songwriter and playwright, Ba Ba Bogalay Tint Aung, accompanied himself on a
guitar and sang a song receiving roaring applause from the audience. He later on
presented a short play. He remarked that he had been to Ngwe Saung for the first
time at the age of 19, and this second visit at age 92 has been so pleasant and
relaxing that it rejuvenated him into 19-year old boy. The local audience of all
ages expressed their thanks for organizing the show free of charge and voiced
their gratification of having seen and heard their favorite classic artistes
performing live in their village.
As Htoo Foundation has
been contributing toward the benefit of various ethnic groups within the country
regardless of race or religion, this trip is yet another virtuous activity organized by
Htoo Foundation with the purpose of refreshing the mind and rejuvenating the
body of elderly citizens of Myanmar.
