The museum was established by Htoo Foundationto Facilitate research work for
international and local researchers, to impart and interest in butterflies to locals and
provide a place of study for their further research and to cater to the knowledge of the
general public.
The museum preserves a collection of over 200000 butterflies belonging to 1400 species
from Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, China, India, Japan and Africa. Presently 30580
butterflies are put on public display.
